Ambassador Meera Shankar In San Diego

Ambassador Meera Shankar was in San Diego and delivered the Gandhi Memorial Lecture and annual event organized by the San Diego Indian American Society, as well as another talk at the World Affairs Council. She presented 21 students with scholarships including four for those from families with no education.

City officials said, Mayor Jerry Sanders appreciated the opportunity to meet with Ambassador Shankar. At their meeting the Mayor presented the Key to the City to the Indian Ambassador. Also seen is Dr. M. C. Madhavan.
