College-Bound Scholarship
Open to high school seniors in San Diego County, the Gandhi Scholarship awards fifteen students with $1,000–$2,000 and a U.S. Congressional certificate.
Funded by the Indian community, the awards are presented at the annual Mahatma Gandhi memorial lecture. To date, over 500 students have been honored for their academic excellence and commitment to Gandhi’s ideals.

How to apply

College-Bound Scholarship
We have awarded over $100K in Gandhi Scholarships to San Diego County students. Each high school may
nominate two seniors, each of whom submits essays on nonviolence
as a tool for human development. A diverse
committee reviews the applications and selects the
winners.

AVID Scholarship
Eligible applicants must be pursuing a graduate degree and come from families with no prior history of college education. The scholarship aims to support firstgeneration scholars in advancing their academic and professional goals.

Community College Scholarship
Eligible applicants are community college students in San Diego County enrolled in career technical education programs that lead to employment. Preference is given to those with financial need and students who are the first in their family to attend college.

The AVID Scholarship supports high-achieving, first-generation high school seniors in San Diego County who are part of a program that prepares them for college success.
